Most couples have specific visions for their engagement photographs. From glamorous outfits to sentimental locations, it’s all about capturing their unique love story and style. For animal lovers Gloria and Frank, it was a no-brainer that their engagement session would begin at the San Francisco SPCA, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
Upon arriving at the SPCA, Gloria and Frank headed straight to the cat section. These two are “cat people” through and through, and adopted their own adored cats from the SPCA on a previous visit. The pair made their way through the rooms of the SPCA, which are each decorated in a different theme, stopping to love on all of the cats and kittens. Needless to say, it was not hard to get plenty of bright, genuine smiles!
After leaving the SPCA, Gloria and Frank made their way back to their apartment. The couple wanted some snapshots in their natural element with their own fur babies. The apartment has stunning panoramic views of the San Francisco bay, which created a beautiful backdrop for this part of the session. Frank was able to share his passion for flying drones by sharing one decorated with a sweet “Gloria & Frank” banner. Their sweet ginger cat was hesitant to join in the photo shoot, but the black cat was finally coaxed into joining with a few treats. Gloria and Frank played, cuddled, and laughed with their sweet cat, providing a glimpse into an average day with the family. After Gloria whipped up some cocktails for the pair, they posed for some gorgeous shots on their windowsill, with the Transamerica Pyramid in the background.
After getting some intimate, authentic shots in their home, Gloria and Frank got dressed up for their final shots at the Palace of Fine Arts, an iconic San Francisco landmark. The Palace of Fine Arts is a gorgeous architectural structure that was originally built in 1915, and has been rebuilt and renovated since. You may even recognize it from movies like The Rock, So I Married An Axe Murderer, or Vertigo! For this part of the session, Gloria donned a flowing Alexander McQueen red gown, complemented perfectly with red lips, while Frank opted for nice jeans and a suit jacket. The majestic columns and expansive rotunda provided a truly breathtaking backdrop for the couple. Throughout this shoot, over these three exceptional locations, these portraits provide a glimpse at the couple’s life together from every angle.
